multiplayerblog.mtv.com— As I have done in years previous, here are my picks for My 10 Favorite Moments in Video Games for 2008. (As spoiler-light as I can make them.)

Fable II is well, err okay I guess, but it feels like there's so many missed opportunities, they ideas are good but the implementation feels lacking. Those daemondoors, funny thing (already from Fable I), but doesn't give you anything useful or special when you open them, there should be unique weapons or at least clothing or items with an unique story behind them, but no, it's just generic crap like in all chests. Also, if you give the hero the option to dress, let there be something to choose from, especially when you're a gall, there's not that many options. And your kids, they all seem to be baby or 8 years olds and no attempt is made to give any depth to having kids, you just have to give presents and do some funny tricks to make them happy. But I guess with Fable II i've got the same gripe as with many current gen games, the looks are improved vastly, and often the fighting/combat is improved a bit to, but depth isn't really changed that much from last gen.
But it wasn't claiming Spore was one of the best games of the year, or that it lived up to its potential. The list just said that it had a great moment, when you realize that your design choices impacted how your creature interacted with the world. I had a great Spore moment today in the Tribal phase when I was attacking a rival village and an enormous mutant creature randomly showed up and started helping me by stomping on all their spear guys.
Wow, a payola free opinion from a major web-site. Amazing and congrats Stephen Totilo! Finally some honesty. I never did get the the aerial battles down in Devil May Cry 4. I agree with the comments about Far Cry 2. The jamming guns and malaria made me crazy, but I'd play the game just to explore the amazingly beautiful environments. And the fire physics are just unbelievable. I wish someone would give some props to Bad Company. It has some problems but it has great level design, great weapons and everything in the game really is destructible. Blowing a hole through a wall with a grenade launcher just never gets old! It's the only game I bought this year that I haven't traded in yet. Coming from an EA hater, that's high praise.
I really wish MGS4 would come to PC or 360 :(Haven't played many 2008 games, but memorable games I've played recently-Mass Effect - last quarter or so is awesome. CoD 4 - Nuke scene. Most disappointing would be STALKER...concept is sweet, I tried to ignore the s**tty gameplay thinking the plot would be stellar, but no. The ending was f**king awful.
I agree with the fallout 3 one, but I think my favorite moment in LBP was completing my first level, and never played GoW 2 so cant comment on that one.
Personally, I thought the weapon jams were awesome. They forced you to improvise, make a wall of fire while you fix it, or run back to cover, once I even jumped off a bridge and landed next to a boat, just to avoid my enemies, not very realistic, but fun all the same.

That "fight" in No More Heroes FTW.After I spent all that time on the train playing on my DS, or whatever it was.
