Well yes, you are supposed to "automatically" know who this Tom guy is. If you don't, you're not paying enough attention to the world around you.I don't have a myspace (hate the whole concept of that site something fierce) but I know who Tom is. How did I find out? Well, he appears on just about every myspace site there is, and he has around 200 million friends. Similarly, I knew that a huge portion of 'friends' on peoples myspace pages were bots. Again, I don't have a myspace, have never created an account, have never logged in as anyone. How did I know? I watch and pay attention. There's a pretty clear cut distinction between the type of profile that's made by a bot and the type of profile that's made by a human. "But none of my friends have myspace account!" you might say. None of mine do either. And of those who do have myspace accounts, I've never looked at any of them save for one or two in passing. But the site is ubiquitous enough that it's being used for a lot more than a bunch of teens talking to each other. Just about every music group under the sun has a myspace, as do many small record labels. I've seen companies use their myspace page as their place on the web. There are enough reasons to be acquainted with the site, ESPECIALLY if your teenage daughter is active on it.As the linked article says (of Digg), there are some things that are ubiquitous enough that being unfamiliar with them constitutes 'cluelessness'. Just have a little common sense, and pay attention to what's going on around you (or in this case, on the screen in front of you), and you'll start picking up on these kinds of things.
My roommates name is tom and he looks JUST like the myspace tom. When i first signed up i was all WOW BAD ASS they know we connected from the same IP and automatically added us as friends.
lol, yea. The firs time I used from myspace, Tom just automatically ended up in your friend list. Plus, it goes without saying that his picture would indicate he is a pervert
