dailymail.co.uk — Muslim men who force their wives to wear a burkha are not welcome in France, the country's justice minister has said. Michelle Alliot-Marie said husbands making their wives wear a full body coverings did not 'share the nation's values'.

That's what I hate about political correctness. You can no longer speak truthfully about what you see, hear, and read. You have to use liberal idiotic "nuance" (lies) instead.

Am I the only one that finds it ironic to hear radical Muslims insisting other countries to be more tolerant?

As much as our movies and television continue to disparage France, they continue to show us, and the rest of the world what they stand for. The fight in essence comes down to human equality vs religious tradition. France 100% chose correctly. I do love the idea of a free America where everyone can say or do as they wish, but forcing and enforcing religious dogmas that make others subservient, second class, unequal, exploitable should not be allowed. France has a great tolerance and respect of human rights, much like America used to, but no longer does for whatever reasons all of you comment readers can think to add.

"Maybe when the Catholic church changes its position on abortions, IVF and homosexuals.....?" What makes you think that abortions, IVF and homosexuals are correct in God's eyes? Traditional values have lasted for hundreds of years, perhaps thousands, permissiveness values have been around less than half a century.

At one time it used to be religion and politics that were the subjects that had so much indifference, no one could ever debate or argue a point across and consider themselves correct. Today it seems any subject, no matter what, has more indifferences that nobody can debate without opposition in the extreme term. See how divided America is! Watch your country slowly go down the perverbial sewer and eventual destruction. But don't worry, the rest of the world is in the same sewer.

"Traditional values have lasted for hundreds of years"Slavery lasted even longer than that, and continues today. What's your point?

A required consequence though. If you want to prevent women being coerced into wearing something, you'd need to ban them from wearing it entirely - otherwise the coerced ones can simply lie, and claim they choose freely.

Argh again 2:256 there is no compulsion in religion!Pity you don't know the context of that verse. It's not about not forcing islam on the Non-muslims, it's about not forcing religions other than islam on Muslims!Read your tafseers and ahadith, it was about some Muslims kids converted to Judaism by their Ansar parents!Of course there is compulsion in islam, gee did you ever read your koran? allah in hundreds of verses asks the Muslims to spread islam as the only religion and allah as the only god, included by violence. Non-muslims have to be converted or are killed or enslaved. Only Jews and Christians may pay the jiziah in submission, as a punisment for not converting to the holy fascism. And even so, ask the Copts, eventually daughters are kidnapped and married by force to muslims. Also poor become muslims because they cannot pay...

Actually I have read the context of all those barbaric violent misogyn discriminatory verses of the koran. And the context is not better! It is clear as per the sirat rasulallah and the sahih ahadith and the commentaries of Ibn Kathir that the context of the sword verses is that mohamed asked his thugs to kill, rape, steal, maim, terrorize, enslave ect... He wanted wealth, slaves, women and even to have sex with a child and consequently his allah ordered the muslims to raid and kill the unbelievers, allow polygamy and slavery and pedophily.
