usatoday.com— Is anyone surprised that album sales - the music industry's main source of revenue - dropped for a fourth year?

I'd say go to Amazon MP3 store, even though you have an iTunes card. iTunes' front page is focused on vapid MTV music. Amazon MP3 store's front page has a lot of lesser-known artists that end up on the top of music critics' lists. This generation has more ways to hear music than any before. They may not have a soundtrack because they have a thousand soundtracks.
Vinyl sales did double this past year. Its a tiny fraction of the overall album sales, but with CD sales dropping there might be more impetus to meet esoteric demands.
Problem is that a lot of people will miss out on those tracks that grow on ya. One album I bought by a band I love (Poets of the Fall, in case you're interested) I didn't actually like most of when I first heard it. But I stuck it out and now it's one of my top albums of all time, with only 1 track that I don't much like.

Well I gotta say f**k the digital revolution. Albums rule, downloads are for people who don't really like music, they just want background noise.

Hello! The article is concerning albums from 2008, not 1973.
