cogames.net — A bizarre multiplayer game of the world renowned Asteroids. Absolutely mental in terms of gameplay but nevertheless, a lot of fun indeed. Featuring stuff like chat as well as the obvious shooting, this is a refreshing way to unlock those childhood retro memories.

According to a comment on Kotaku, "4CR killed it a few days ago, Kotaku kills it today" it looks like it's down at the moment. Hopefully it will be back up soon as there is an army of bored people just waiting to play.

only the first box where you type your sn is not flash, the rest is flash 8.Although I can't actually play cause the server is full.

I think the article is named improperly, it should be called Space Wars, not Asteroids. There were no asteroids in the game at all.

While it is a pretty slick web-game, I have to ask - where are the asteroids? Least aptly named web game, EVER. (Simpsons comic book store guy voice)In all seriousness though, I think the game would be vastly improved by the addition of asteroids and a limited max # of on screen bullets. It would make the gameplay much more tactical and deliberate, rather than the current successful strategy of holding down the forward thruster while hitting spacebar as fast as you can.

Nice... I forgot what exactly I had, but I know that I had 133 points, like 400 kills or something... I too stayed to play... If you ever see the guy "Rusty" tell him I won! (He had over 100 when I had 0, then I came back at 131 and he quite with 133, saying that there wasn't any compettition left...)
