osnews.com — Linux/Java has topped CEO Ed Zander's list things to look for from Motorola as it attempts a financial turnaround. At a New York press conference this morning, Zander introduced Linux-based 'Rokr' and 'Razr2' [photos|video] models, along with new top-level executives. Native SDKs won't be available.

The actual article is already in the front page (submitted by Rick). Please eavoid linking to doorway pages like OSNews. You keep doing this and it leads to duplicates, it 'dilutes' Diggs, and it's just not very helpful.

"Native SDKs won't be available."Not an open source based OS for the new Rokr / Razr? I'm sure these phones will have an astonishing hack community! I've already enjoyed a lot of goodies you can brew with my Razr V3m =3

420 MB of memory. And what do you want to bet that the contacts still won't have ADDRESSES? And there still won't be tasks or memos. And still no working software to sync with Outlook.Oh, and how about a "wavy" keyboard with numbers that aren't arranged in rows? And a button on the side that turns your ringer off if something in your pocket hits it? Because those are the kind of innovations we've come to expect from Motorola. And finally, a really great new name. I suggest SHTR.
