breitbart.com — Radiohead let its fans decide how much to pay for a digital copy of the band's latest release, "In Rainbows," and more than half of those who downloaded the album chose to pay nothing, according to a study by a consumer research firm.

I'm a Radiohead fan. I paid $0 because they let me. If it was like this for all music, I'd never pay another dime. Quit thinking like a zealot, and think like a consumer.

Yes, but what I'm saying is that it SUCKED.

We don't worry about the world. We're much more interested in the latest chapter in the Britney Spears trainwreck saga! :P

DKCO, You must work for the RIAA, because your argument has such fallacious logic in it that it could only be meant to support them. I wouldn't mind if ALL ARTISTS went the route of Radiohead, cuz _f**k_ the record labels! It is the greedy label execs that keep signing unlistenable, rehashed teeny boppers to multimillion dollar contracts, and who refuse to lower the price of CDs to what it should be, which is less than cassette tapes! (they cost less than cassettes to make)... they are ruining the overall availability of quality music to the point where artists are wising up and sidestepping them altogether... This is the DYI era, where all information is instantly available to anyone, and those of us who have the will to think for ourselves aren't going to be spoonfed crap music at ridiculous prices any longer.

whats so wrong with that? true fans keep tabs on their artist's doings, and in this day and age coordination of such communication of seamless and instantaneous. its absurd to think that we would be reduced to musical communism where "nobody will make it big" if everyone followed Radiohead. How about the best bands make it big, the old fashioned way, by playing shows and word of mouth? I can't wait until more bands follow suit and leave their labels in the dust, then maybe I can finally afford some of their music.

Think like a mindless consumer and you will be treated like one.

It's better than the RIAA's "Hey artist, sold an album? Great, here's 3 cents on the dollar!".
