youtube.com — This a digital marionette. the later model powerbooks are equipped with a motion sensor. I wrote a small processing application that reads out the sensor. The digital representation of the marionette reacts to the sensor output and can be controlled by moving the laptop

This is pretty stupid. plus the reaction is really slow. Slow enough to look like it might even be fake.

Apple has it's own section because they are a company that has a cult following - it's a marketing strategy - people are passionate about apple - didn't you read that erotica macbook review (not actually porn)? But I think that they should at least have a Microsoft category... I love Apple but I still like Microsoft... it's the annoying friend I can't live without.

so, it seems like there's one question people have been ignoring while they blissfully trash macs.why does the laptop have an inertial sensor anyway?aside from a few silly hacks and "art projects"(wank wank) i don't see much of a use for it.

One could probably combine that with the infrared remote to put in more control on the figure too. It's not unheard of to attach more strings to a puppet, for eyelids, ears, etc.

the internal sensor triggers an emergency shutdown in case of a fall
