This is pretty old for news. I'm well over 20 and I hear it just fine. However, I know that people older than me don't seem to notice it. I think if you can tell that a TV is on by the high pitch it emits (some people think I am crazy, but others know what I am talking about) when the volume is OFF, you will hear this.
