I don't understand why this is a dumb idea?Shopping around for Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance (MPPI) saves consumers money and British Insurance Ltd offer one of the best and cheapest policies available in the UK.Can't see anything dumb about that!

MPPI got me out of a spot when I was made redundant in 1998 from Reed Elsevier. I didn't really want to get another normal job, so by having my mortgage paid for a year it gave me time to set myself up as self employed. I just wish I hadn't gone to my lender as it was expensive, if I had shopped around it could have saved me loads of money, ah well:)
