So...yea...normally I hate ruining the digg's daily "we hate Islam" fest...but er...uh...can someone point out in the article where this guy (or anyone) said that Allah told/made/inspired him to do this or anything even remotely close? Oh, it doesn't.Why can't this be chalked up to a crazy ass person doing crazy as s**t? Need we drag religion into this argument?
In Sharia/Quranic law a woman as a witness is worth about half of a man as a witness. It's simply because women are so stupid and inherently liars. Duh. So if she testifies that the man tried to rape her, or even successfully raped her and then admits that she assaulted her attacker and the attackers admits that she attacked him (forget about forensic evidence of rape it's only proof that she committed adultery) then she will most certainly be sentenced to jailtime..5 for rape2 for assault. You need at list one male witness or the whole thing is blown out of the water.Oh, and if she gets pregnant than that's more proof that she committed adultery...and adultery is punishable by death.
So since we have pictures confirming the Holocaust you're not going to deny that...right? Or are you a whacko? What about Manifest Destiny...is that just anti-American propaganda?
I can't wait for NOW (National Organization for Women) to condemn this -- oh yeah that's right -- they don't care. If it involved Dick Cheney we would never hear the end of it.
My point was not to say that some Muslim beliefs aren't bad but to say that just because he did something like that doesn't make him Muslim, and that you cannot assume someone is a bad person because of their religion.

They're Muslims. They're barbaric enough to force their children into marriage.

@Harry: Religion is a vector to promote those ideals, not the source of them.

The counsel's argument is ridiculous. To think that marital circumstances or cultural differences can somehow justify gouging someone's eyes out. http://www.rolid.org http://www.se-ua.com
