xbox360.ign.com — Today, Microsoft revealed that more than 140,000 people signed up for the North American beta within the first 24 hours. During that period, halo3.com was bogged down with requests and for many the sign-up page would not load. Registration is still open to the public.

Not surprising .U have to applaud the marketing done by bungie/Microsoft. It makes u feel like u r part of the procedure and part of the family...Halo 3 will sell xbox 360s,6 months before its release. Thats something no game will ever match.

Whats the last innovation in FPS gameplay? There hasn't been any. Doesn't make the whole genre suck, but it sure doesn't inspire me to buy any of them.

@BlackKnight6I don't think the error reporting will be done directly by the user, unless they ask for input specifically on "What do you think of the grenade." It seems that the reason this beta is out there is so they can collect better data on the network/multiplayer performance across Live, and maybe to see if one weapon is all powerful. That way, we won't have to sit through a V1.1 update due to network performance issues or weapons balance problems. It will probably come with some automated background reporting that logs some number of variables.

Any idea of when they're going to start contacting people so we know if we've actually been chosen?
