huffingtonpost.com— Three Putnam County voters say electronic voting machines changed their votes from Democrats to Republicans when they cast early ballots last week.

Republicans are on their way to stealing a 3rd election by manipulating the voting machines. The oldest trick in the book. Solution: take in your video camera and record your vote on video. If it flips, you have the evidence. Use technology to fight abuse of technology!
Actually this has been observed in elections in 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006 and now again in 2008 in various parts of the country, but most often in swing states. And in all these years that vote flipping has been observed it has never been the case that a vote for a republican flipped to a democrat. They always flip a vote for a democrat over to the republican. Actually in a few instances they've been observed to flip votes for libertarians to republicans. But never have I heard of a vote for a republican flipping to a democrat or any other party. If these were simple errors or bugs we should see an even number of each. But we never do, suggesting that the machines are NOT merely malfunctioning, they are rigged to switch the votes. And since the software is kept proprietary, in most cases without even the state board of elections having a copy of the source code it's much harder pinpoint who is responsible and how. These electronic voting and vote counting machines should have their source code handed over to the state board of elections with independent inspectors checking if the software running on them matches the result of compiling the source code. If the code doesn't match. the machines shouldn't be certified. Further the source code should be checked for suspicious blocks of code that might result in vote flipping. If we are going to use electronic devices to record votes we need to get serious about esuring their accuracy or else use paper ballots which can be recounted by hand when suspicions arise. As has been recommended here and elsewhere bring a video capable cell phone, video capable digital camera, or camcorder to record your vote if this happens to you.

Thanks pleterh! I was already going to take my camera phone but now I will hit "vid" instead of "cam". Great idea, hope you are passing it around!
