Those are pretty far down the list. The REAL reason is that Israel fears a counterbalancing nuclear deterrent. If any other nation in the region got that (or if Pakistan got out from under our thumb, and, by extension, Israel's) then Israel could no longer go bombing its neighbors whenever they want. Heck, it could even come to credible demands that Israel withdraw to the Green Line and give the Palestinians true self-government.Those are reasons #1-#99 we are in this war. There isn't enough oil anywhere to pay for what already spent.
