With Chrome OS in such an early alpha state (at least I assume that's where it's at right now), I'm sure they're concentrating on making it WORK before they put any thought into the visual design. The stuff that's there is probably more of a placeholder than anything.

and thats probably why they donated code to wine, so they could use the linux base with software they already had availible.
