google.com — The savage Mexican drug war. Crumbling state budgets. The election of a president who said, "Yes — I inhaled." These developments are kindling unprecedented optimism among the many Americans who want marijuana legalized. Doing so could weaken cartels profiting from U.S. pot sales, save billions in enforcement costs, and generate billions in taxes.

The USA is fighting two wars right now: the War on Terror and the War on Drug Dealers. In the War on Terror, the terrorists makes the majority of their money from the heroin trade. In the War on Drug Dealers, the dealers make over 90% of their money on cocaine and marijuana. If we just legalize these three drugs, we could end both of these wars and save billion and billions of dollars and lives. If we legalize all narcotics, we could effectively end all gang crime and save even more money. We need to wake up.

But what if I smoke too much of this dangerous kush?I mean beside the great pain relief I will feel since kush strains are some of the best medical strains for chronic pain.Oh I know I will eat too much junk food and fall asleep. Just like the average American.

I do agree with all 4 of you, especially FAHayek since he put it very simple. However, marijuana is a lot safer than the others in my personal opinion and experience. I'd say the only other drug that's about just as safe is LSD (Acid) because it has virtually no effects physically or mentally, unless you're taking certain medication types (I believe MAOI).Drugs like cocaine, heroin, PCP, etc., have known effects that can harm you physically and mentally. Cocaine and heroin are extremely addicting and can cause you to think that you need more and more which is why OD's happen. PCP can cause extreme anger which can result in violence.Again, I do agree that it IS "intellectually dishonest to claim that only cannabis should be legal but that all the "hard" drugs should remain illegal. People either own their bodies or they do not.", but the hard drugs have much more negative effects than marijuana. Despite this, I do believe that they should all be legalized, but some of the drugs should be regulated in a much stricter way to prevent abuse.

I agree with you - I feel that prohibition (of anything) is what makes them dangerous.

People who have bad affects from smoking weed, don't smoke it again. I know people who smoke every day, and will not drive while buzzed. And others who can drive just fine with weed, alone. Add alcohol and all bets are off.

Actually Marijuana has been discovered to be used way longer than 5000 years. A "spiritual leader" in a cross-roads village on the great trade routes south of Mongolia before the bronze age was discovered to have it in his "juju bag"
