rattlesnakebite.org — On July 21, 2002, just after my 13th birthday, I was bitten by a Northern Pacific rattlesnake. From this point, an amazing rescue took place. Here's the associated story and the pictures. WARNING: The linked photos are not for the faint of heart.

So was it a LEMON PARTY????

Copperheads are pretty non-aggressive and their bite is quite survivable. Water Moccasins on the the other hand are extremely aggressive and have a hemotoxic venom similar to the rattlesnake. I remember seeing copperheads in the woods when I was a kid but I haven't seen one in 35 years since, I did however see a moc only 5 years ago. I've never seen one myself but I'm told there are timber rattlers in the area where I live (northern Ohio).

i am shocked at how many people replied to this as if they were replying to the kid who posted it-- he even commented on his site that the hit count has gone drastically up since 'someone posted this story on digg'and another thing i would like to point out to those of you who actually read and didn't skip past to the pictures am i the only person who noticed him mentioning he has a crotch-hand now? i mean not literally(to spare anyone having to criticize me)-- but they took skin from the groinal area for the hand graft... that must have stung!
