PS- Also most doctors have very little training on chronic (long lasting) pain and most of their knowledge is how to deal with acute (short term) pain. They often give very strong pain medicines that actually just make things much worse. If someone has chronic pain, I'd highly suggest they see a pain management clinic or someone with experience with chronic pain instead of their normal doctor.

As in most medical cases it's better to treat the symptoms then to cure the real problem.It brings more money too... and it's all about $$$ in pharmaceutical companies.If you had the cure (not published), and also cash in a lot $$$ for treating the symptoms which path would you choose ? :)
