yaledailynews.com — At a debate held at Yale University, Senator Gravel spoke of his plan to empower the people through the National Initiative (ni4d.us), and reaffirmed that he would stay in the race until Election Day. Gravel also criticized Obama for speaking of "fluff and tiddlywinks," and likened his message to "unadulterated bulls**t."

Ok, I admit that Obama's speeches aren't as substantive as the other candidates', but on the other hand effective rhetoric is usually inversely proportional to substance. You can visit his website to get all of his policy positions in detail. Several points to make -1. Obama wants to pull out of Iraq, one brigade at a time, in 12-16 months2. I actually don't like Obama's healthcare plan for not being single-payer, but it is better than Clinton's "mandatory coverage", which is just a huge giveaway to insurance companies, and it will be better than what we have now.3. One thing he has repeated said in his speeches was to emphasize extracurriculars and the arts more in education, rather than just standardized testing. Isn't that antithetical to NCLB?4. Obama has said that he is going to talk directly to Ahmadinejad. Unless "talk" = "bomb", I don't see what you're getting at.Politics is all about comprimise - Obama is a deeply flawed candidate just like the rest. But I also believe that he is the most progressive and most likely to win out of all the viable candidates; plus the prospect of a Democratic Reagan and shifting the entire political sphere a bit to the left sounds appealing. One thing about that political compass - almost ALL the EU countries, which all do have UHC and are generally a lot more liberal than the United States, are on the same "Authoritarian Right" sphere. Along with the major liberal Canadian and Australian parties as well - http://www.politicalcompass.org/euchartI'd appreciate it if you stopped referring to us as cultists from now on, or else we'd have to summon Cthulthu to exact bloody vengeance. Just saying.

We need someone with backbone as president. Gravel has that - as well as experience. He has shown time and again that he is a man of his word and that he CAN get things done. And he is the only candidate with the guts and desire to speak out against the Military Industrial Complex. He is also the only Dem. candidate left who will end the war. Oh, and he isn't afraid of showing his true colors and saying what he means - unlike the others. What you see with Mike is what you get and I am more comfortable with that than all the dancing around issues and non-answers that Obama constantly throws out. The only thing the voter turn-out proves is that Obama is good at bringing in his flocks of sheep and herding them around with false hope and non-existent solutions. And it also proves that the MIC and the MSM can convince people to vote for who they want them to vote for.Mike Gravel - Real Experience, Real SolutionsFree America - Gravel '08!

What commercials were creepy? The one where he stared into a camera? That wasn't a commercial; I don't know how many times I've had to clarify this for people who are too lazy to do some quick research, but it was a project done by two art students at a university. He's clarified this several times.

It's disgusting how the media buried Mike's message....After his sacrifices for all of us this is the way we repay the man.Mike's actions have moved me and I'm sure many others to his cause and in that he can rest assured that his voice will always be heard.“We all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will.” - Chuck Palahniuk
