It's become just a term to imply the 'next generation' of web sites. This next generation of sites generally involves some kind of added layer of interaction or dynamic content. That's it.There's absolutely nothing wrong with the term itself. It's a buzz word, sure, but it works as a classification. There IS a very distinct and apparent seperation between what is web 2.0 and what isn't.

If you're talking about Internet2....then "many many many years" is maybe 7 years. Which is something COMPLETELY diferent from "Web 2.0".
