Jkfan87 you know what's even funnier. A dumbass Wintel user that thinks Uni* and all it's incarnations are just as venerable as Windows. And because of it's small market-share nobody knows. When we all know that Linux which is based on Uni* , UniX has been around longer than anything on the market to day. It was the first and it will be the last.... in the form of Apple's OS X! Yea baby. Oh yea, and linux will be there too. ;-)
Having the patches at a specific timeline helps the corporate guys roll things out easier. If there's anything super critical, Microsoft breaks schedule and releases a patch as soon as it's developed. That graphic on the link is the worst thing I have ever seen. Seriously. Did they draw that with paintbrush then save it as a .3KB jpeg? No? It's 22KB. Whee
