Paltalk was around longer than Microsoft and actually used their patents, so I wouldn't necessarily call them a "patent troll"I think its a case of them not caring until it became obvious how much money Microsoft earned off of it. I used to use Paltalk before the advent of Skype.
Just because it's voice chat doesn't mean that it uses the same protocols, routing methods, etc. On top of that, Skype is primarily trying to make things as cheap as possible for the user, whereas M$ is trying to rape you up the ass, through the nose, and skullf**k you just for fun after.

That review is over 4 years old.The current version of paltalk is pretty slick.
