Now is the perfect time for Apple's marketing people to move away from its "I'm a Mac" campaign to the next thing. Releasing another batch of commercials will just compare and contrast with Microsoft's efforts to "reframe the debate." Apple's marketing people should just light the frame on fire and walk away to the next thing.

I've worked in marketing (mostly for politicians) for most of the last 20 years, so I'm giving an opinion based on how positioning really works, not based on my biases about the companies involved. I'm a Mac user, but I appreciate smart marketing strategy wherever it comes from. Based on tonight's turn of events, it does NOT appear that Microsoft is headed in a smart direction.
