@darkhacker RE : " But don't let the facts stop your MS bashing. "There's no need to bash MS, since the facts do a pretty good jobs bashing on Microsoft with the following facts :1. OOXML is meant to be an "open" standard, yet is riddled with MS patents (how is that "open" ?)2. if MS is so willing to go the "open standards" route, why don't MS just open source their compatibility pack? (an MS component that migrates Office documents back and forth).3. if the MS submissions to ISO were "complete" then why has MS submitted ANOTHER 5,000+ pages of docs AFTER the closing date of the original submission?(in other words, the documentation that was made available earlier by MS was just a fraction of what was needed to implement a full run-time of Office documents.)" ... most shameful is that earlier this year Microsoft not only was buying people's voice left and right to obtain the ISO rubber timestamp, they were also putting the last touch to Office 2009 (codenamed Office 14). And they have never talked about it. Whatever they have already baked in won't be part of the ISO proposal, making it as useful as an old sock. "

@mrBitchYou clearly didn't read my post, not a f**king word. I've already stated that ISO approval for OOXML was a terrible idea. I've actually read the OOXML specification and I doubt you have. It's a terrible standard, but anyone who has read it will understand why they did it that way, which was to preserve compatibility and formatting for older documents. Formatting which would have been lost in the conversion to ODF. Here's how Microsoft bashing typically works..Basher: Pfft. M$ sucks! Why don't they do it like Apple does and fix their crap software.MS: *fixes software and implements feature suggestions*Basher: omfg! They stole from Apple!MS can never win. People will hate MS no matter what. I say this as a strong advocate for Linux too. I dislike Microsoft, but my reasons for disliking them are based on legality and technicality. In other words, is MS playing fair? If yes, is there product superior to the competition? When Microsoft does do something right though, I give them kudos. I don't sit around whining about how they stole from Apple, which is often times a false allegation or one which ignores the fact that Apple stole it from someone else. And mrBitch, I've seen your past comments. In fact you were already on my blocked list when you replied to my comment. I can at least show respect for someone who holds a different opinion, but I've seen you post comments that contained so many factual errors, I have to wonder if you checked Wikipedia just to make sure you didn't post something truthful by mistake. An opinion is one thing, but make sure you fact check your stuff before posting.

cherub you are a moron... seriously how long have you been in the game? i personally started with win 3.0 (i have 1.0) but to be clear here, the thing people refer to as Vista was a beta IS a beta and will STAY a beta... the longhorn project was started for the business community, you want a working Vista, get server 2008. you want a working HOME system? wait for Windows se7en... the se7en project was started at the SAME time the longhorn project was and was being built for the private sector. Vista came about due to hackers stealing the alphas and betas incessantly so Microsoft decided to sell the betas so that end users could file error reports like testers do but MS could reap the cash in the prcess.point is, yes MS is a bunch of con artists just the community is too stupid to see the real illusion
