I can't believe how many of you are cool with this. If they were buying franchises out from Nintendo's feet Digg would be starting a boycott Microsoft campaign complete with anti-MS blog posts going to the front page every hour, but because they're bullying Sony you guys find some way to justify it. At this rate, the XBox won't be profitable until it has a dominant market position. Think about that - they will keep burning money until either their shareholder revolt (they have a lot more money to burn until that happens) or until they have a higher market share than Sony and Nintendo combined.You guys really forget that Nintendo is the vulnerable target here. Sony is the king of the hill and they're trying to toss 'em off, but Nintendo is being kept alive by a high stock value and Yamauchi ownership of a large portion of that stock. If Nintendo's stock value were to plummet at the expense of Microsoft playing hardball, then they might be able to buy 'em out. It seems like an extreme situation but it's not an uncommon thing for Microsoft to do.I just can't believe that stuff like this gets brought to the public's attention and the only reaction you guys have is "meh, looks like another reason to buy a 360." That is such a shortsighted and unethical way of looking at the situation. This isn't like desktop software where OSS can take up the fight once Microsoft has destroyed or bought out all of their competition. 3D games are too complicated and laborous. If you really care about gaming in the future you wouldn't give Microsoft your money - not through XBox, MSN, Windows, Zune, or any other unoriginal half-ass product which costs them more in marketing than anything else.Of course, you guys don't care about the economy, you just wanna play Halo. f**king sheep. I bet you'd sell your soul for a night of cheap thrills.

I look at this, and I am one of the people who will be buying this game, buying the extra content, and most likely selling my old Xbox 360, and picking up a NEW Xbox 360 once the price drops and the new smaller chips are installed. So from my point of view it is a great business deal for them.

Well it could be a smart move or the market could reject it and there could be a large backlash. I share a 360 with my roommates right now. I know everyone is going to buy their own but because of things like this I may just do a Ps3 instead.

The only reason Microsoft is losing money on 360 is because they shipped out a defective product to soon. (case in point having to extend the warranty form one to three years.) What Ps3 fan boys are not saying which is weird, is that Sony had one of the best launches for a counsel ever.
