theglobeandmail.com— Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak thinks the company should spin off its iPod division, and believes it's past time for Microsoft to shed its 'Darth Vader' image.

Apple has a Vader image too. It's just that Apple's Vader wears a shiny white suit and gets followed around by sycophantic Storm Troopers and proselytizing corporate tools so their idiot customers are duped into thinking otherwise.Look at the money Apple makes off the s**t they sell on itunes compared to the actual artists that create the content. Or the second rate mp3 player they keep adding extraneous features to in an attempt to get idiot neophytes and hype-buyers to keep re-buying the f**king thing (why the restrictive codec and resolution support? So idiots will be forced to either buy episodes of free tv off Apple's iTunes service or waste hours converting stuff from their own source. Plus it gives them a nice incremental update for next year's model). They're no less evil than any other corporation trying to get your money. It's just that something that can only be described as spectacular failure over 30+ years of business has left them seeming like a small company that needs your help. They don't.I'd love to see both companies on equal footing just so we could all stop having to see these fawning bulls**t stories and comments all over digg every day. f**king tools. You're being used, now wake the f**k up.
Nearly 700 people Digg the article without reading it because of the words Darth Vader. If you guys actually read the article you would seen that Woz never said this and you would have marked it INNACURATE and it never would have made it to the digg home page.I have no respect for the little weiner who wrote this title. This is the stuff that will kill digg.
"Regardless of any "new idea" someone thinks they have, someone else has probably thought of it first."I would have no problem with Apple bringing OSS material to the mainstream through OSX if Apple fanboys didnt accuse other companies of stealing from Apple after Apple "borrowed" concepts from Sun and others.
I understand what Woz is saying about the iPod. He doesn't want Apple to become just another MICKEY MOUSE Disney toy company. He remembers when Apple was a true computer company and just not the labeler of the latest iToy for 13 year olds.
I wish people would get their info right before they spew crud.Stark23x, Apple had Apple Desk Accessories back almost a decade ago. So please don't spew that Konfabulator fud.
Grow up people. Digging a story because it equates a co. you dislike with Darth Vader is fairly sophmoric. Not to mention that is about apple's shifting focus and this allusion is just one minor comment at the end.
