Yeah, I noticed the windows update page still works, They just fixed it for the download page, Within 24 hours though, It will be cracked again.

I got a Dell Laptop awhile ago that did not come with XP cds. I recently did a clean install of XP on it with a copy of XP I bought previously and it would not accept the CD key printed on the sticker of my laptop. I was forced to use the CD key that came with the legal CD I bought. So I had a desktop and laptop running with the same key. Not really a problem because everything activated. But then MS introduced this new protection scheme.Now the laptop is running linux.

You can just press the option to validate, then say "don't validate now" then it will let you get the download.

Hey, tacobell... ;)I just spend 5 f**kIN' hours last night fixing my nieces computer. They have a crappy eMachines who's MOBO was crap. I replaced it with a new one and when I booted the system, WinXP would NOT allow me to log in unless I reactivated the software. Fine. I typed in the codes... invalid. Huh? They do have a legit copy AND I have the proper serial number handy. Ok, so I call... automated system... same thing... 1hr passes. Finally, I circomvent their system by tapping the "0" key till I finally get a live person. She makes me jump through hoops with various numbers, etc... FINALLY "sorry sir, you'll have to use the restore disk provided with your system". Don't think so, the restore disk WIPES the drive just to reinstall the OS. There goes all their music, all their photos,etc... f**k IT. I end up installing a hack copy and using the new security fix on it and BAM!! up and running.I'm not only pointing out this example, but I've had an issue at home with my LEGIT copy not being able to activate. I've tried soooo many ways, outside of wiping my drive completely, to correct the situation, but no go. Screw it. MS needs to fix their activation system. Meanwhile, my hacked copies allow me to bypass this moronic Activation system.To each his own.

Well, I tried today to check for updates (after I had disabled the activeX control the other day under Manage Add-ons) and it didn't work. So what I did is I enabled it and checked again. It worked, naturally, with the control enabled, so I clicked on custom and it asked me to validate. So, next I went into Manage Add-ons, disabled the control, and it automatically refreshed and let me check for downloads (of which I had zero).So, maybe enable it, let it load, then disable it and let it load again. Maybe that works.

Wow. I really thought trustfund and welfare scripters were starting to fade away. Guess not. Want me to elaborate what I mean? Most all with the exception of a few (Who I might add don't talk, they do) of your so called "l33t" are trust-fund kids who either have;A) An expensive education as a stipulation of their trust funds, never actually using it for real work, but instead using it for hacking, scripting, phreaking, etc. Why not? they have money, why work like the rest of us?B) Welfare or mommy and daddy. Spend all your time on the computer while the world passes by. Hey, to these same people as me I'm cool!Fact is, I have a decent enough knowledge of my machine to do what I need to do, but I work 43 hrs every week, so I don't have much time to give to some subjects. Does this make me a 'warez kiddy'? OK, sure. But remember, pacobell especially, I work for a living, so who really is the kiddy?
