If you are a CS major then you want the most reliable, easiest to use and most resilient to virus and hacks for your work and essays and general use and then you want another computer that you can repeatably rebuild and install distros and experiment on. So go out and get yourself a band new Mac and then find a PC dealer that specializes in off lease laptops used by corporations, you can get a great deal on an 18 month old computer.
I run Windows programs on my Mac all the time for work. There are a number of ways to do it.As far as the enlightened choice: there's no denying that there are IE or PC users out there who just don't know any better. That being said, there are great reasons to use a PC. I used PCs almost exclusively in college, and if you really know what you're doing with it, it's a fine choice.But I couldn't go back. There's so much a Windows box can't do that I've gotten so used to using in my daily and professional life. I've come to expect much more from a laptop.
I didn't know Macs crashed. I also didn't know that IT guys supported Macs. I thought the whole point of the Macs are that they are idiot proof and users don't need support. Guess I thought wrong.
So does Windows 7. I like Windows 7 though. This commercial specifically said she wanted a computer to boot fast and no PC running Vista or W7 boots quickly. You can bury my comment, but you know it's true.
Thank you for actually finding an example, I should have mentioned though that I was only considering getting a macbook pro and for the specs I get with that2.53ghz duo, 4gb ddr3 ram, 500gb hd(custom), 9400m graphics chip, 13in screen 4.5lbsI couldnt find anything better for the price which is about 1850 with tax I think too lazy to check.
