That's assuming these people actually leave the scene completely. If this forces some of these people to actually buy their games, Microsoft has won. Keep in mind, Microsoft makes the majority of their money from game sales and that is exactly what these banned people were avoiding.
That makes no sense whatsoever. If I own a store, and you buy something from me once a week but the other 6 days you're in there stealing, I think I'd be better served by going without your occasional sales thanks.
I understand Microsoft's position - they probably can't ban just your pirated games, since they can't tell the difference. My problem with this is that I paid for the service. I don't get a refund, I just get a f**k you. In fact, I've had 2 Xbox 360's with the RROD, but not only that, my Xbox subscription disappeared twice and I had to re-buy. I didn't have a modded console, they just seemed to have lost my subscription. I didn't keep the subscription card, and I'm not going to buy it a third time. I'm so fed up with the hassle I only use my PS3. It just works, always. f**k Microsoft - don't worry about banning me as I won't buy your next console when it comes out.
when a console is banned it corrupts hard drive data, takes away ability to install to hdd, etc.also takes away media center support and such as well, so they do cripple it somewhat, granted not a brick, but definitly lacking various things.
To be fair, they do have a 250gig hard drive. I don't know if it's for sale, but I just recently bought the limited edition MW2 Xbox 360. I'm sure it will last me a while.

Modding games in an online environment effects everyone. Illegally downloading titanic to masturbate to Kate Winslet's t**s does not (hopefully).

"10 Retail games = $60 each.. $500 at the least."..and the Math was so solid up until that point.
