I was just reading about this over at Slashdot (yes ocassionally they do have front page news that's not on Digg)I must say i don't blame Microsoft for trying to cut down on Piracy, but i don't think this is it. Cheaper copies of their OS would help. It's like Music CD's, if they're too expensive people will get it elsewhere and save themself the money.Personally I think if they do this with WGA the backlash will be something awful.
A lot of users are upset with WGA and I feel they have a right to be. And i I also agree with you if Microsoft does this, they will get such a backlash. it won't be funny (Except to us users of other OS's)..I would not be surprised if a lot of innocent users with legit copies of XP will be caught I'm the MS netSome already have been effected by the WGA and they are hopping mad.
like u said evil dragon they should drop prices also all the money u pay for a cd doesnt happen to go to the artist it actaully goes to the riaa also, i cant believe that microsoft could maybe have the feeling they cant afford this i mean look at him and how rich he is also they have a couple good replies on that website that i might have gone over...i agree with most of them
