Make it cheaper than snow leopard and really mix things up. Image the price being so reasonable people wouldn't even consider downloading a pirate version. I'd pay ?80, but as a home user I would have a problem paying the same price as the hardware it's running on.

@LocalDocalEven if they waited and released Windows 7 instead of Vista, people would still complain about many of the same issues. Complete driver model rewrite + lazy vendors = not much they can do.Windows 7 will be a great operating system, but it's in large part due to what Vista has already accomplished.

That has more to do with DX having over blotted game engines that you lent you make a game with a copy of pant shop pro and a spread sheet. Use for only 2,999,99 your 5 year old son can be a game developer. Thanks to or new direct X 11 SDK. You just pint and click and you can right games in secs.

That might be somewhat difficult, though. Updating a beta into a final product - there are quite a few changes involved for something as large as an OS.

Thanks to those unelected cretins in the EU who cause all the problems and make all our laws, MS are going to release it in Europe without a browser! Will be interesting to see how they do this, without a browser it's going to be pretty hard work for the average user to get up and running.
