Morrison's statement that, "As long as your TV is de-interlacing the 1080i correctly, then there is no difference..." is innacurate as is described in the comments below the article. It is only true if the original signal is interlaced. A true 1080p signal would look much better on a 1080p tv than a 1080i tv.I also agree that it will not be a widely held standard for gaming.

The question is: What *isn't* hype about the PS3?

PS3 CANNOT AND WILL NOT OUTPUT "GAMES" TO 1080p BECAUSE IT DOES'NT HAVE THE HORSEPOWER TO DO IT. THINK ABOUT IT, ANYBODY WHO KNOWS PC GAMING KNOWS THAT RUNNING SAY CALL OF DUTY 2 PC AT 1920X1080 AT A DESENT FRAME RATE REQUIRES AT LEAST "ONE"GEFORCE 7950 GX2. THE PS3 GPU IS A MODIFIED 7800 GTX.

You seem to know a fair bit about the hardware. Look down and left, above shift, and below tab.I hope the PS3 keyboard comes without a caps lock button.
