"When was the last time you saw a Windows ad urging people to buy it other than the few Vista release ads?"Windows does not need advertising, since Microsoft has made sure that almost all suppliers of PCs install Windows by default. Many won't even sell a computer without Windows if you ask for it. It is either a Windows computer or no computer at all.
Your going to always find that someone makes a better product then even good ole Microsoft. I agree Microsoft should put more attention to those things but they fail to do so on a regular basis. Hardware firewalls far exceed software firewalls in my opinion because its much easier to find bugs in software then it is to exploit read only firmware. If Microsoft built the "one all nobodies better then us" solution then many of their clients wouldn't have a way to profit by making a better product that enhances windows capabilities so all in all it keeps the tech industry going by having millions of bugs and hackers digging through your operating system. Point is get Spybot S&D, Adaware, AVG or better, and a better software firewall, and I personally disable any services that I don't need and close out most the ports that aren't being used. Make sure to close out ports on your router too. By default these days most routers do this automatically though.
Bottom line: Still doesn't change that fact I spend zero time worrying about these types of issues on my Mac and Linux machines and every have protection program under the sun protecting my windows machine.
I love how the chart compares vulnerabilities fixed and patches issued, as a benchmark for security. Ok, so what if there are undiagnosed vulnerabilities that have *not* been fixed? :-o OMG, did your brain just explode just then? did it? yeah, mine too!
cut the OS crap people... either use what you want to, or write your kernel.. idiot torvalds-ish wannabes... im sick of it, and i can see many people do support my view :)

[Reported by Diggers as Possibly Inaccurate] Shocker there, as Digg seems to be mainly used by MacBoys and Open Source Bitters
