wired.com — Allard's involvement is seen as significant because he is one of the few executives at Microsoft with experience in launching a consumer electronic device from scratch with the Xbox gaming system. His involvement suggests that gaming might be part of the media player.

"Yes, WMP11, the one that sends information about your listening habits and your computer directly to Microsoft? It's all in the license."Don't forget Itunes phones home too. Its in the license.

It's an internal project name, like "Longhorn" or "Chicago". The final product will not be called "Zune".

Wow, that ALL it would take for you? Basically to be equal to the iPod on some arbitrary points and have slightly more HD and Battery Life?Obviously if nothing else changes for the next iPod it will atleast get a bigger HD and longer battery life...Don't care if the interface sucks? Or if the software sucks? Or if their music store sucks? Does it work only with windows? Does it work seamlessly, or does it suck like all other Windows based options?

I'm in no way an Apple fanboy, f**kwit, quite the opposite. What I'm saying is it would take a gargantuan effort to knock the iPod of its perch. There have been a raft of products similar to the iPod, none of which have sold very well because average joe public only knows of the iPod. So price is going to be a huge contributing factor. And when did I make a jab at the xbox? I own 3. Stop listening to the voices in your head, theyre all f**ked up.

People who don't listen to music everyday, please don't post you comments.Microsoft champions the fact that they are blood thirsty killers of their competition in their goal to have total domination in the marketplace.Music lovers are passionate, fun loving and creative people. These two things don't mix. Who wants the mark of Microsoft on the music we love.

Well, if it does not play ogg it is of no use to me. I'll just have to keep using my Palm as my music, video, games, data device. :)
