Technically Pages does have a thesaurus. It is combined with the dictionary. Right click on word hit look up in dictionary. Unfortunately the thesaurus in dictionary is notoriously useless. Apple chose to tie Pages into the OS tools. Hopefully Leopard will bring a useful thesaurus. I've also noticed that Pages slows way down when you get above about 10 pages in document. It's great for 2-3 page articles papers and letters worthless for anything beyond that.
I think Microsoft would sell more copies if they didn't call it "2004". Unless you update your software every year (and even then I have my doubts) it sounds old and crappy.
Pages '08 is WAY BETTER than Word. get iLife and iWorks they are perfect for what you need.I run my whole business with those two programs. And from what I have seen, Office 2008 looks just like what iWorks '08 already does.

Office 2007 is far more useful then 2003, they really did make a lot of improvements.

Why does NeoOffice look like s**t? Well.. s**t might be a little harsh, but it definitely doesn't look very good.
