That would require Microsoft tracking the sales items and amounts for any vendor you deal with... YAY...Realistically I doubt every vendor is going to tied to data swapping with Microsoft. The already discounted stores just won't get listed by Microsoft, and will continue to do well with Google.

You guys have Cashback WRONG. Let me explain:Cashback is TARGETED TOWARDS frequent online shoppers, that wouldn't mind getting a nice discount on the products they provide. Cashback is a SERVICE where you can find great deals on products, and get some money back (depending on how much that particular store wants to give back). It's not like you search and get free money. You have to buy things, and eventually you might accumulate enough to get paid with it. Think of it as the same thing as rummaging through the local newspaper's market ads, and finding discounts and deals. Cashback is the same concept but via the internet.

I agree. I just checked out the site (because I couldn't believe MS would sink so low), and it's not what everybody says it is. It's really just a money-saving product purchase service. Nothing too innovative, but it is kinda smart. Michael Arrington even said that Microsoft won't get a lot of revenue from Cashback. Too much hate is on here.

@fadetoone"You buy the product from NewEgg, or wherever as you normally would."That's how your comment read. Not mine...

I'll try my best to be understanding:Of course I don't want to use M$ stuff. That's half the point of what I wrote. The second half of the point is that even if they paid me I'd hesitate to use it.:P

Who cares as long as MS cuts the checks. Something google adsense often has a hard time doing.

Microsoft's is NOT BUYING love. They're just simply giving rebates through their online store partners, via Cashback. And it's NOT so complex like you think it is:1) Search for a product2) View price/Cashback comparisons3) Go to that online store and buy4) Check your Cashback account, and if it's anywhere over $5, press the "Pay me" button and get your savings via check, PayPal, or online bank accountIf Google did this, I'm betting Google would get credit for making a simple service that saved you money when you buy products from a good number of online stores.
