gizmodo.com — Microsoft's Mediaroom is the company's IPTV solution that brings TV into to your house (much like cable and satellite) over the internets. You might be familiar with it in its commercially released service forms such as AT&T U-Verse here in the US or BT Fusion in the UK.

BT 21st century network is spending money for gears to make everything run on Internet. I work for a router company and can clearly see how telcos are moving their infrastructure to provide these kind of services. Also ADSL can go upo 30 megs easily but definitely we would need new hardware so good for router companies. ;)

Okay, Sammykeyes tell me exactly what they offer that differentiates it from a web browser with Flash installed. This is not new technology. This is just Microsoft getting a bunch of content providers to provide their s**t on top of Microsoft's proprietary s**t. No want.

That sounds all nice and dandy but I am scared leaving my xbox 360 on for an hour let alone to watch tv from it.... rrod anybody and seriously like the rest said this will eat up your bandwidth I can't see this being very big until we get more better lines and faster internet speeds to be able to even use IPTV. Now on the other hand if we get a dedicated line like some are talking about with the package then so be it.
