engadget.com — WiFi, 30GB of HDD, built-in FM, a 3-inch screen and the basic music, pictures and video playback. They also finally let slip the screen res -- an unsurprising QVGA -- and some better news on the codec front: the Zune supports h.264, MP3, AAC and WMA.

Zune rhymes with Tune. ooohHaving a wide screen is good (for those who like watching video on a little screen) although it's actually at the *same* 320 ? 240 as the iPod.Hmmm share a track with your friends, wow, this might appeal if I was an 11 year old boy and still at school. Seriously, what a useless feature.Saying that, you know it'll sell.

It DOES play DIVX/XVID files (MPEG-4 files)....read the interview on engadget website.

i like the gui (what i've seen) and the wifi but the actual product is butt-ugly and will not, imo, compete with apple's slick industrial design which is what has won it fans up until now.tbh, this looks like another bloated ms app - LOADS of features but the best crippled (and caveat'd) beyond reasonable use (see the microsoft designs the ipod packaging for further info)i think the only thing that may give ms a foothold is the fact that apple did not release any spectacular ipod revamp this week (a full-screen ipod or full-featured ipod phone would have put ms on it's butt before it got off the ground), just a bit of a half-assed rehash of the same thing as before.

This WiFi sharing feature is something that seems cool, but think about it, are you gonna walk around with your friends listening to music, I use my iPod the most when I'm walking around the city alone. The best time to share music is when you're at home at your computer, not when you're out and about. The concept of a wireless mp3 player seems... superfluous, so is the radio, its gonna be a drain on batteries, and if you have a huge up to date arsenal of music why would you even listen to the radio?

in the cnet article it says there will be no video, is this true?!

You know you could just get an Asus WL-HDD and stream/copy data from that to your PSP. Battery life of the WL-HDD isn't shocking with a 3200mA battery, if you only use it to copy data to/from the PSP.

Anyone know the dimensions of the Zune I wanted to compare it to the iPods and iRiver using http:www.sizeasy.com but can't find any mention of the dimensions anywhere.

I can't believe that no one has pointed out to these dumb ass motherf**kers (Apple or Microsoft users) that saying iPods work better and the Zune is unreliable with the motherf**king Zune isn't even out yet!Shame! on everyone of you that made a post and didn't mention this.
