techweb.com — Microsoft has opened a forum to discuss the Vista GUI. I doubt they'll make any significant changes, but at least we can let them know what we really think. Maybe some like the Vista GUI, but to me, it looks nauseating. The color scheme is demented, and it's too flashy. What do you think? Tell Microsoft while they are listening!

You still haven't learned that Vista is there to make USE of your memory? I have 2 gigs of memory, what's the point of having it if it's not getting used? Vista caches programs into memory, as well as a whole lot of other things, to make programs run faster, start quicker, etc.

Actually you're wrong or downright lying. The forward and back buttons on the browser and many windows is solely on the upper right corner, not as you described. They're not included in applications like installations.

If they read the digg comments about Vista nobody at Microsoft will get any work done, they'll be too busy laughing at their (alleged) imminent bankrupcy, linux secretly dominating them and of course, Firefox "pwning" them everywhere it matters (marketshare not mattering).

Yeah, but those 5 DVD's will contain the equivalent of about 100 additional products that don't come with Windows.

Don't you think it would have been better if the default theme didn't suck so much?

Did they add system-wide color management yet?

Microsoft asked for a critique of Vista's GUI themselves, it's not like we decided to bash MS.

Who cares about the god damn font dialog, you never ever see it in normal usage especially since drag and drop is enabled. And it's not from Win3.1, it was recreated in Win2000 to mimic the original appearance out of some bizarre compatibility need.

Someone actually used that?

I'm not trying to be the word police, but when you spelt peon 'pion' I had a strange image of Microsoft hurling a subatomic particle at a forum :)

You're a 'tard.1. He legally purchased DOS. He didn't steal it. It isn't UNIX. Neither is Windows, Windows was based (and largely developed by former engineers of) VMS.2. How does one 'steal' a programming language?3. He is the richest man on earth.

Amen to that...

I didn't see any distro out there which requires 40 gb for installation.Cl1mh4224rd wrote:>>But we'll waste 16GB on a single videogame. I have better work to do instead of playing games.@Reno582I have a 80 gb hard disk, and it is perfectly enough for my daily use and programming tasks. Vista is a hog, and will never find a place on my precious pc.
