Thats the word going around in the beer community anyway. It was more profitable to plant corn for Ethanol so, a lot of the people growing hops switched to corn. Now we have a huge hops shortage and beer prices are skyrocketing. Most micro brews have already increased prices. Really hoppy beers are going up the most. Double IPA's are up about $2 a six pack putting them over $10.

actually, Micro-brew is the more old school name, craft brew is the new school name. There were too many 'micro-brew' [laces that had too much production to really be micro any more but still weren't at the macro level so there was a decided shift towards the craft brew title.

Yes Sam Adams did a good thing but are you kidding me...? Hops are hops? That's like saying grapes are grapes or cheese is cheese... they each impart their own flavours and characteristics to the brewing process....
