mlb.mlb.com— He's been known as 'His Airness' or 'Sir Michael' amongst many other nicknames bestowed upon quite possibly the greatest player to suit up in the NBA.

Michael Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time. That being said, this period of his life begs questioning. The theory goes that MJ was forced to retire in lieu of suspension and scandal. It was well known he was gambling ridiculously during this time, even all-nighters before Finals games. But less well known,he was linked to owing money to two members of organized crime, which he mislead investigators about, and one of them later wound up dead. Then his father wound up dead (why would MJ's dad have to sleep in a car? He's MJ's dad, he can't pay for a hotel?). So MJ quits basketball amid this impending media story and gets picked up by the Barons, whose owner was also owner of the Bulls. Most telling, his quote about retiring where he said he's come back if "David Stern allows me back". Why would David Stern have to allow him back? As a kid I remember MJ crying when he won the Finals on Father's Day. He was/is my favorite player. In retrospect, I just don't know what to think of it now. Bury me down, but the story is fascinating.
MAN! If I had his money I would be playing baseball as well! He just wanted to have some fun and see if he was good at something else, what is wrong with that? He is a smart and talented guy, maybe not a Mickey Mantle, but I bet he really had fun.
Bad multi-sport athlete? You do realize that Jordan was the best basketball player ever and was probably one of the top 10,000 baseball athletes in the world when he played in the minors.

Oh please. Michael Jordan was nothing more than a one man corporation in shorts who paid constant homage to the Mothership Nike.
