"not all people who reject evolution are religious fundamentalists" - they are in my parts of the planet . These individual evaluations are culturally based.De-federalising science education ensures that the redneck states will be teaching the book of genesis alongside Darwin in science class. (But not the other 100's of creation myths from around the world of course). That wouldn't bother Paul, obviously. This is a vital issue for many of us, although not Ron Paul supporters, it seems.I like Ron Paul, I think he's great on issues of foreign policy and the bailout. He's a good man. But this is a fatal flaw. We can do better.Richard Dawkins: "When two opposite points of view are expressed with equal intensity, the truth does not necessarily lie exactly half way between. It is possible for one side simply to be wrong."
In fact Ron Paul made several speeches on the House floor about Constitutional issues.Perhaps you are just stuck in a rut and didn't realize it.He began his opposition to the Iraq use of force based on the Constitution in 2003.Maybe you have a different opinion, that does not change the fact that he has opposed "W" on Constitutional grounds.
That is why I never use or say the word "government", instead I say "people in Washington".The word "government" implies something that is almost god-like or super intelligent and capable. People need to realize that our country is being destroyed by "people in Washington" who are just as dumb and incompetent as any other dumb and incompetent person. The people in Washington aren't smarter than the average person... To the contrary, I would say they're dumber.
