news.yahoo.com — The news that Mexican trucks will be allowed to haul freight deeper into the United States drew an angry reaction Friday from labor leaders, safety advocates and members of Congress. They said Mexico has substandard trucks and low-paid drivers that will threaten national security, cost thousands of jobs and endanger motorists.

There seems to be no end to how the Bush administration can hurt the American worker.

hurt the american worker??!do you know the inefficiency and money it costs to both economies to have the incredibly slow process of customs + transferring load to american trucks??and this: "drew an angry reaction Friday from labor leaders, safety advocates and members of Congress." -- mexican trucks that go into the USA must be registered in the US DOT - so they are as verified as american trucks

Lets no be too hard on Bush, Clinton was for exactly these same sort of policies. (Or, better yet, we ought to be hard on both parties.) It is a bipartisan betrayal of the United States."so they are as verified as american trucks"In other words, they may be substandard and raise safety fears but we will just call them American trucks and by renaming them we will make the problem go away.Sort of like Bush's plan for illegal immigrants: we'll just make them legal! No more problem!
