wiredblogs.tripod.com— For many reasons, Metroid Prime 3 is considered the flagship title for Nintendo Revolution -- at least in the West, where the first-person shooter is king. And Nintendo knows it.

Metroid Prime 3 seems like a real killer app for this new Rev controller, so yeah, it being at E3 and being a launch title makes a lot of sense. The fact that Matt Cassamassina confirms it now, I guess that makes it final.
With Red Steel, I don't think they should make this their their flagship title. We need variety. Super Smash Bros. and Mario 128 should be the flagship title(s), along with Zelda TP.
Metroid Prime is definitely not an FPS. You don't even aim in the game! It's a first person platformer, the best example of one.Great game. And the sequel is good too.joecooooool: 480p isn't HD.And the component cable isn't hard to find, you can order it from Nintendo. In fact, I've never seen it anywhere else. And if you don't have a Cube with the necessary digital out connector, N says they'll help you find one of those too.
It's played in first person. And you run around shooting stuff most of the time. That's enough reason for many to call it an "FPS". Yea yea, it doesn't play like CS or Halo. Duh. But call them whatever you want, good games.
I agree with those who say you're comparing to later games, except PGR. I don't agree it's invalid to compare Xbox games to Cube games. But I also don't agree PGR looks better. PGR3 looks better of course, but that's a lot later.PGR and PGR2 don't look as good as Metroid Prime in my book. PGR2 is a truly great game (PGR is trash), but it wasn't all that great on graphics. If you wanted to compare to a racing game, try Rallisport Challenge 2. It looks much better than PGR, it's the best looking racing game of its generation.I'm surprised no one mentions the sound on Metroid Prime. The sound was amazing, the environmental effects were fantastic. You used the pulsing noises of the special power ups to find them behind breakable walls. The only problem with this was that meant you had to turn off the music to hear the special items better, and the music was fantastic.I'm also going to cut the other way and say I'm less jazzed on the new controller than everyone else is. It'll be great for some games, but I dunno if I see Metroid Prime being one of them. I'm glad the Revolution seems to include regular joystick capability too.I cant wait for Revolution. Especially with PS3 delayed, this sucker is going to make a huge splash, I'm all over it. And I won't have to blow $500 on it like with 360 and PS3 (machine + game is $450 alone).

It's working out pretty well for Hunters, so I think it's fairly safe to assume.

Launch titles always sell well. They don't have much competition. Even if they launch 3 FPSes in the first month, they'll all sell well.
