torrentfreak.com — It’s been nearly nine years since Lars Ulrich became one of the most vocal opponents of Napster and the generation of file-sharers it spawned. Not one to speak about something he has no experience of, Ulrich has just admitted downloading his own album, Death Magnetic, and it was “bizarre”.

when you sign on to the evil RIAA, you loose all rights to your music. as THEY own it. you're just a tool.

You are seriously DUMB if you critique bands who wanna actually get paid for their work. I know most of you are probably working at Starbucks or pushing peanuts at Dodger Stadium, but if your boss came to you and said I'm not gonna pay you, sorry, you'd be pretty pissed too. I implore all of the artists on digg who feel Metallica is being unfair to post ALL OF YOUR WORK FOR FREE.

Super - And it would be one of the only times in recorded history that I would be cheering on the RIAA.

Here's a less 'retarded' reason to stop listening to them -- the quality of their music went to the crapper. As far as 'best metal band' goes, they started off strong, but IMHO other metal bands have become far more relevant than them in the last ten years, as far as pushing forward the metal genre goes. (Opeth is a prime example.)On a sidenote, I'm in absolute shock that Lars was chosen as the 'best metal drummer' in one of those guitar magazines this year, over Mike Portnoy of all people. Since when has Lars ever been a good drummer? He's average at best.
