thedeadbolt.com — Thankfully, with the release of Death Magnetic, Metallica has finally put an end to the debate over old Metallica and new Metallica. Death Magnetic is not only an album that sees the band return to their Metal and Trash roots as much as they possibly could over two decades removed from Kill 'Em All.

It's a very good album, better than i thought it wold be.It's hard to imagine them going from St. Anger to stuff like That Was Just Your Life or All Nightmare Long

Ummm..no.Songs are the combination of lyrics and musical structure. Music is the musical structure portion of that, and sound is the final medium that transmits it to you. Plenty of great songwriters sound like s**t (Bob Dylan), plenty of great Musicians can't write a song (David Gilmour on his own), and the music industry is chock full of producers generating pleasing albums with catchy sound for soulless, cliche-ridden hacks and pop starlets. But seriously, this clipping is f***ed up.

Huh?The production on this is not raw at all...I think it's as close as they could go to the Black Album era production while still sounding like it was recorded in the 00's. It sounds like a proper album as oppsed to St. Anger, which sounded like it was done in a garage.ITs a great album, Im happy!:)

Sounds fine to me, I don't mind my metal loud. Seems foolish any other way. For those complaining about the mix, a good enough equalizer on your home stereo allows you to tweak it to your liking. Change a few setting to bring out the bass and make it a little less hot and it sounds great coming through 3 Bose/2 Klipsch.

Thank God for equalizers, sounds fine to me.

Ever heard of an equalizer? A few tweaks and this thing sounds great.

Hey Metallica fans, the band is getting bagged on this other Digg post:http://digg.com/music/Metallica_vs_AC_DC_Who_Rocks ...

I'm pleased to see others who feel Death Magnetic is a success AND a return to older Metallica. Not that the 3 previous albums were horrible, but in my online article, I was badgered because readers felt I was saying new Metallica sucks. Quite on the contrary, but old Metallica (+ Death Magnetic) is absolutely fabulous!http://www.examiner.com/x-10727-Dallas-Metal-Music ...

I don't care too much for the new one. Megadeth's last three I like better.
