Aluminum has higher strength to weight ratio than stainless steel. A stainless steel notebook will weight considerably more if it's to have the same strength as aluminum.

I am frequently at the Apple campus, and can pretty much say that this is total and utter bulls**t. Apple doesn't even let the people working on the product see the final product until the last possible second. Some don't ever see the finished product until it's released!
