cnn.netscape.cnn.com— They claim they've actually found a vaccine that prevents cancer. Let's hope this opens the door for more vaccines.

Regardless what some of the folks here have said, this is very good news. In addition to causing cervical cancer, HPV causes genital warts, and cervical dysplasia. Just reducing the number of pap smears is a good thing.
This isnt even a vaccine for the cancer, it's a vaccine for a VIRUS (papillomavirus) which apparently can lead to cervical cancer. (I assume that it damages the cervix in some way that raises the chances of getting the cancer or something)
