It saddens me that religions are made to look bad, when every religion at its heart is a beautiful thing full of love, respect for mankind, and a desire for peace. religion has been hijacked by hatred, i hope that people like yourself are given louder voices.
What I find somewhat astounding is that all the media/internet/forum/blog attention on this incident seems to be centered around whether or not Mel Gibson hates Jews, and whether or not we care about that. Not seeing a lot of talk about the DUI itself. Think about the level of drunk a person usually has to be to get belligerent, and to forget that it might not be the best idea to let out those little things we normally don't say out loud. Some quick Googling suggests a BAC of .12. That's not *crazy* drunk, but it's sure drunk enough to make driving a bad call. Have we become so used to celebrity drunk driving that we don't even blink at it anymore? It seems like we get fixated on their behavior during and after the arrest itself (or occasional lack thereof) and sort of pass over the actual crime. Maybe it's not all that shocking, as we're all sensationalists to some degree; but it certainly is interesting.
