engadget.com — With high hopes of putting some litigation distance between it and Apple, Meizu just released these updated renderings of their M8 / miniOne. Still no actual product shots though we hear that a prototype is floating around Meizu offices somewhere in China. So what say you -- is this change enough to keep Apple's lawyers at bay?

Why wouldn't you want a clone that is much cheaper and has better 3rd party capabilities? Now the iPhone has competition that will help bring its price down.

I think it's more about that fact that it looks almost identical....no one mentioned the touch ;)

This isn't so much a problem with monopolizing a standard. Its more like making an exact copy of something. Down to the looks and everything.

"IE on windows mobile is fine."No it isn't, it sucks ass on any platform."I personally find windows mobile to be great operating system for its purpose."I almost agree, because my phone crashes/slows to a crawl more than my desktop. One device I'd like not to crash is my phone. Only reason I got it was to write some apps for it using Visual Studio. After about 3 months I remembered why I hated, and deserted the Windows Mobile platform.Windows Mobile is as eager to consume resources as it's similar named desktop counterpart. Sadly, the resources aren't available on a phone/PDA.

I am investing in a company that makes cleaning clothes right now. These iPhone and knock-off devices are going to make me millions.

This is actually quite nice. One of the big downers I'm anticipating with the iphone is that I have to get closer to my cell phone provider, and I don't want to get closer to them. I like them at arm's distance. I don't want to sign up for a data plan. But I would like the organizer features, the music player, and the general iphone look-and-feel.Yes, it's a cheap, Chinese-designed knock-off. But that doesn't change the fact that it has styling that's similar to the iphone and it has a much more palatable mix of features. I can buy an unlocked one and use it as a PDA and music player, without saying a thing to the jackasses at the phone company.

They're doing it all wrong has microsoft taught them nothing about ripping off apple's ideas. The dock thing need to be at the top and the battery indicator needs to be on the right and the clock need to be on the left. If there's one thing that convinces people that it's not the same it's the location of stuff on the screen.
